Ok. I couldnt' decide whether to post this on the rave board or here, but who cares?
I've just got a new job, working for the rape and sexual abuse support centre in the town I live in. It's only voluntary to start with but it could, and probably will progress. Regardless of that though, this is the kind of work I really want to get in too so I think it's a big chance for me. I'll be working on the telephone helpline, listening to callers, giving them advice and practical support and help including contact points, refuge information etc. I'll have to do a three month training course and I'll get and accreditation at the end of it. I'm contracted to stay there for at least a year as a volunteer, and after that, I'll be considered for paid posts, which suits me as I want to train propperly as a counsellor and I couldnt' really do that propperly if I was working full time, but I can choose how many hours I want to work a week, which will be a lot if I have anything to do with it. My boss seems really lovely and is willing to do anything necessary to make my life easy there. don't have too much information about when I start or what happens next yet. She's going to ring me back on Monday and arange a meeting to discuss everything but I'm sososososo happy!!! I really wanted this one!!!

I'm so happy for you. I wish you the best in this. I thank people like you with such good hearts. It's not an easy job to do, to deal with people who've been abused in some way. so i admire that. Good luck with everything.
